NHA CPT Core Knowledge — cardiovascular system & blood flow, blood vessels, phlebotomy-related vascular anatomy (antecubital fossa: median cubital/cephalic/basilic), blood components (plasma vs serum, RBC/WBC/platelets), blood groups (ABO/Rh), hemostasis & coagulation, pre-analytical errors, and medical terminology.
Safety and Compliance
NHA CPT Domain 1 (26%) — OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030), Standard/transmission-based precautions & PPE, sharps & biohazard disposal, exposure control & needlestick response, hepatitis B vaccination, hand hygiene, QC for lab equipment & CLIA-waived/POC tests, first aid & CPR, ethics, scope of practice, and documentation.
Patient Preparation
