Insurance Producer — Life & Health in New York

New York Department of Financial Services (DFS)

New York administers the Life and Accident & Health producer exams through PSI as TWO separate tests — Life (Series 17-51) and Accident & Health (Series 17-52). The written test is offered in English and Spanish. Our practice questions cover the national Life & Health core plus New York insurance law; Chinese is provided as a study aid only (New York's real exam languages are English and Spanish). Always confirm current fees, prelicensing and scheduling with the New York Department of Financial Services or PSI before you register.

Customer Service Representative / Call Center Agent

BLS says customer service representatives who provide finance or insurance information may need a state license. When a role crosses into selling, soliciting, or negotiating Life & Health insurance, producer licensing applies; a general customer-service job may not require it. This is a state-variable insurance specialization path, not a universal customer-service entry requirement.

Requirements vary by state and locality. Check the authority for where you plan to work.
