About PassPrep
PassPrep is a free, multilingual study platform for the official exams that open doors in the United States — driver's licenses, professional and trade licenses, food-safety and alcohol-server cards, citizenship, and more. Our goal is simple: help you pass the test, and then help you turn that credential into real work.
We began with driver's-license written tests and grew into a platform covering 40+ US states plus Canada, Australia and Mexico, across more than a dozen exam types. But passing an exam is only step one. For many of the licenses we cover — a CDL, a food-manager certificate, a nail-technician or security-guard license — the questions that matter next are: what job does this open, what does it actually pay, and how do I get hired? That is where PassPrep is heading — from helping you pass, to helping you work.
Everything here is free. Practice is unlimited and no account or sign-up is required. We keep the study tools open to everyone and fund the work through unobtrusive advertising and optional recommendations — never by locking the questions behind a paywall.
Our focus is the learner the big English-only test sites overlook: the new immigrant studying in a second language. PassPrep is available in five languages — English, 中文, Español, Tiếng Việt, and 한국어 — and we add a language to a specific exam only where that exam is genuinely offered in it, state by state. We would rather tell you the honest truth about which languages a real testing center supports than pad a list to look bigger.
On PassPrep you can practice every question in a topic for free, take full-length mock exams scored to the real pass line and time limit, and review a personal list of the questions you got wrong. For each exam we also publish a plain-language guide — what to bring, how to book your appointment, the fee, the pass score, and the languages the real test is offered in — so you walk in knowing what to expect.
How we verify our content
Trust is the whole point of PassPrep. Here is exactly how we build and check what you study.
Written from the official source
Every question is written from a primary official source — the handbook, statute, or content outline published by the authority that runs the exam, such as a state DMV, the FDA Food Code, or a state licensing board. We do not copy commercial question banks or invent facts. When you answer a question, you can open the exact source section it came from and read the original for yourself.
Dated, versioned checks
For details that change over time — fees, pass scores, retake rules, the languages a test is offered in — we record when we last checked them against the official source and which document version we used. Where we have that record, the page shows a Last checked date and the source it was verified against. Where we have not verified a detail ourselves, we do not stamp a date on it — we would rather show less than claim more than we know.
A correction loop you can trigger
When something looks wrong or out of date, every content page has a report button. Reports are anonymous and go straight to our review queue; we re-check the flagged item against the official source and fix it. This feedback loop is a core part of how the content stays accurate as rules change.
Honest about money and other people's words
For jobs, pay is shown as a real take-home range — net of costs, with gig work clearly marked as having no benefits — and each figure links to its official source. Where we summarize what workers report, we label it as community experience, not official fact. Content is written and reviewed by the PassPrep editorial team; we do not invent reviewer names or fake credentials.
Real differences, checked state by state
Rules genuinely vary from one state to the next — the fee, the number of questions, the pass score, the languages offered. We research each state on its own and publish a state's page only after verifying it against that state's official source; a state we have not confirmed is left out rather than filled in with a guess. The page layout may look similar, but the facts underneath are checked one jurisdiction at a time.
Independence
PassPrep is an independent study aid. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any DMV, licensing board, employer, or government agency. When a recommendation could earn us a referral fee, that never changes the facts we show you.
Disclaimer
Practice questions are for study purposes only and do not guarantee passing the official exam. Always confirm current rules, fees, and requirements with your state's official handbook and licensing agency before you rely on them.
