What it looks like
A yellow diamond-shaped warning sign with a black legend reading PAVEMENT ENDS or a symbol showing the paved surface breaking into loose material.
When you'll see it
Where a paved road transitions to gravel or dirt, common in rural areas and at the edge of maintained roadway sections.
What to do
Slow down before the transition; the unpaved surface offers less traction and control, so ease onto it carefully.
