CNA — Certified Nursing Assistant in New York
NY State Education Dept. / DOH
New York administers the CNA exam through Prometric. The written test is in English (an English oral version is available for reading-related needs — there is no Spanish written test), scored pass/fail. Fees are about $115 combined, with retests $57–$68. You get 3 attempts within 2 years. A New York quirk: oversight is shared between the State Education Department and the Department of Health (most states use a health department alone). Our practice bank is trilingual (English/Chinese/Spanish) for study support; the NY written exam itself is in English.

Vendors, fees, pass marks and language options vary by state and change over time — fields marked “To confirm” are not yet source-verified, and you should always confirm with your state's nurse aide registry before testing. We never imply you can take the exam in a language your state does not actually offer.
