CNA — Certified Nursing Assistant in California
CA Dept. of Public Health (CDPH)
California — the largest CNA workforce in the country — runs its written test through D&S–Headmaster. The written knowledge test is in English (an English audio version is available, and an approved translation dictionary may be used), with a published 75% cut score. The knowledge-test fee is $35 (+$10 for audio); the skills-test fee is not publicly posted. You get 3 attempts at each part within 2 years. Oversight: the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Our practice questions are in English, Chinese and Spanish to help you study, even though the California written exam itself is administered in English.

Vendors, fees, pass marks and language options vary by state and change over time — fields marked “To confirm” are not yet source-verified, and you should always confirm with your state's nurse aide registry before testing. We never imply you can take the exam in a language your state does not actually offer.
